QSTP supports projects and ventures in Qatar that lead to the creation and growth of technology-based companies, especially those that relate to Qatar's economy and institutes.
The earliest point that QSTP will provide finance is at the "proof of concept" stage, ie. after a technology has been devised but before it has been commercially validated. The latest we will invest is in growth-stage companies that are still developing their technology.

QSTP will typically not finance a venture if: it is at the research stage; there is no further technology development to be done; there is little rationale for locating it in Qatar apart from finance; the applicant does not have rights to the intellectual property; or the majority of activities is located overseas.
Who manages the investment funds?
The Proof of Concept Fund and New Enterprise Fund are managed internally by QSTP.
The Proof of Concept Fund is fully operational. The New Enterprise Fund will commence in 2008.
What happened to the Technology Venture Fund?
In mid 2007 the Technology Venture Fund was merged into the New Enterprise Fund, which was then brought under QSTP management.
How do I apply for investment?
Funding enquiries can be sent to the e-mail addresses listed for each fund here. The fund manager will then verify the suitability of the proposal and provide an application form.
Which ventures has QSTP funded so far?
At present none of the funds has completed a funding agreement. Activity of the funds will accelerate nearer the opening of QSTP's business incubator in mid 2008.
