Newsletter Shines Spotlight on Tech Business in Qatar

QSTP's "Qatar Innovator" briefing launched

Doha, 12 April, 2007 - A new quarterly briefing that covers technology business in Qatar was launched today by Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP).  "Qatar Innovator" is an electronic bulletin that examines technology trends in Qatar, projects by local companies and universities, and developments at the science park.  Its inaugural edition includes a feature on the future of e-commerce in the country.

"Qatar Innovator is targeted not only at business and technology professionals, but also the wider Qatar community" said Dr. Eulian Roberts, chief executive of QSTP.  "As QSTP nears its opening later this year the level of technology activity in Qatar is rising sharply, and the newsletter aims to help people keep up to date with these developments."

"There has been so much growth in the technology business landscape in Qatar lately it can be hard to stay abreast of what has been going on - let alone what is coming up next.  The Qatar Innovator briefing will take the most important stories, say where a new technology-based initiative has been launched, and look at how it affects local businesses and the local community" he continued.

The feature article of the first edition of Qatar Innovator is an in-depth look at e-commerce in Qatar.  Local business and government experts give their views on how companies in Qatar are starting to embrace online services, and how important it will be to the country's economy.  "We are a key player in the country and we had better do a good job" the e-channels manager of Qatar National Bank is quoted as saying.
