Can I apply to the Mentoring Program if I am not located at QSTP?
No, the program is available for small-to-medium companies located or intending to locate at QSTP. The possibility of extending the program on a fee basis for companies outside QSTP will be considered in future according to demand.
Yes, Mentors are typically engaged by QSTP under two-year professional consulting contracts.
QSTP covers all costs of the Mentoring Program.
Can I choose the Mentor I want?
Yes, within reason. QSTP will provide details of several suitable Mentors from where a selection can be made. QSTP's pool of mentors will change over time according to the needs of Qatar's start-up community.
If I want more than 30 mentoring days, who pays?
The program includes 30 mentor days within a 12 month period. The mentored company would be required to pay for more mentor days or for an extension to the mentor period ("unused" days disappear after the 12 months).
What are the obligations of the mentored company?
The mentored company must engage in the preparation of a formal work plan and timetable at the start of the program, and commit to interacting positively and effectively with the mentor throughout the full 12 months.
Can I ask for a Mentor that isn't presently in QSTP's pool?
Yes. If you are aware of someone who would make a good mentor, they can apply to to be included in QSTP's Mentor panel (theGuru Group). The application will be processed in the normal manner. If successful the Mentor can then be assigned by QSTP to the company.
How can I become a Mentor myself?
QSTP is constantly expanding its network of associates who can support Qatar's start-up companies, either under formal mentoring contracts or on an ad-hoc basis. Read more about the QSTP Guru Group.
