Science & Technology Park

QSTP Management Board Appointed

27 September 2007 - As Qatar Science & Technology Park prepares to go from start-up mode to full operation, a new board has been appointed to oversee its next phase of development.

The board is chaired by Dr. Tidu Maini, Pro Rector Development & Corporate Affairs of London's Imperial College. Vice chairman is Dr. Amer Al Saadi, Research Advisor of Qatar Foundation. They are joined by Hamad Al-Baker, Executive Director Corporate Services of Qatar Petroleum International; Ian Cannell, Finance Director of Qatar Foundation and Dr. Eulian Roberts, Managing Director of Qatar Science & Technology Park.

Board members took their posts in June. They will guide Qatar Science & Technology Park through its opening in late 2007 in which tenants enter its new buildings, its business incubator opens and corporate and academic research is expanded.

"The science park has achieved much over the past few years, growing from just an idea into a first-class facility with commitment from some of the world's top companies" Maini said.

"Now that we are about to open, we face a fresh set of challenges: Connecting QSTP with the global science community, ramping up corporate research projects, and growing local technology enterprises. We are proud of the opportunity to contribute to Qatar's vision for a knowledge economy. And with the ongoing support our partners and colleagues, we are confident of success."
