Craig Mundie, Microsoft's Chief Research and Strategy Officer Envisions the Future of Technology at TECHtalk Forum in Qatar

Doha, Doha, 22 April 2010 Craig Mundie, Chief Research and Strategy Officer, is currently visiting the Gulf region over April 21st and 22nd, 2010. During his visit, he addressed regional enterprise and public sector customers at the TechTalk Forum that took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Qatar, supported by the Qatar Science &Technology Park. He also held meetings with customers and partners to discuss the impact of technology on business and society and highlight Microsoft's global commitment to the region. In addition, Mr. Mundie conducted several public speeches one of which was to the students at Qatar University which had over 250 attendees.

The theme of Craig Mundie's speech for the TechTalk Forum was around the theme of "Envisioning the future of technology: Toward human centric computing". TECHtalks, which is hosted by QSTP and is a regular networking seminar on topics concerning developments in the field of technology. The series started in February of 2007 and focus on the four industry pillars of QSTP: Energy, Environment, Health Sciences and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

As part of his discussions, Craig also offered insights into Microsoft's long-term technology vision; new and emerging technology discoveries and the transformation from graphic-user interaction to natural-user interaction based on the client + cloud computing platform. He also focused on Microsoft's commitment to the region, including increasing opportunities for the development of skills amongst the local populace and the importance of partnering with businesses and governments to spread the value of information and communications technology.
